About This Site

We’re here to help you build real income online — without the hype.

Most “make money online” sites are either selling you a $997 course or pretending their six-figure income appeared out of thin air. Web Moguls is neither. This site exists for people who want honest information, specific tools, and a clear path — whether you’re starting from zero or already have a blog and want to grow it into something that actually pays.

The person behind this site

I spent 11 years in private companies, IT consulting firms and digital marketing before deciding to build income on my own terms.

Not dramatically. No rage-quit moment, no viral LinkedIn post. I just looked at my career one afternoon and did the math.

I’d spent over a decade managing digital marketing and e-commerce operations for brands that weren’t mine. I knew how affiliate programs worked because I ran them. I knew how content drove traffic because I built the strategies. I knew which tools were worth paying for because I negotiated the contracts. And every year, that knowledge made someone else’s business more valuable while my salary moved in increments that didn’t keep up with rent in Los Angeles.

So I started building something on the side.

Not because I found some secret. Not because I took a $2,000 course that changed my life. Because I already had the knowledge — I just needed to point it at myself.

Web Moguls is what I built.

It started as a project to document what I was learning in real time — which hosting providers were actually worth it, how to set up a blog that earns, how to sell digital products on Etsy without drowning in the competition, how to automate the repetitive stuff so you can focus on the work that actually matters.

That documentation turned into a library of guides. The library started getting traffic. The affiliate links started converting. And at some point it stopped being a side project and became the job.

I’m James Habs. I’m based in Montana. I’m not a millionaire and I’m not going to pretend I am. What I am is someone who has worked inside the tech industry long enough to know what the real levers are — and I share them here, plainly, without the performance.

What’s on this site

Everything on Web Moguls covers several things:

Starting a blog the right way. That means choosing a hosting provider that won’t slow your site to a crawl, setting up WordPress so it’s actually functional from day one, and writing content that ranks without sounding like it was written by a robot.

Making money from your site. Affiliate marketing, digital products, and ad revenue — the three pillars that actually work for independent bloggers. Every strategy here is one I’ve either used personally or have direct professional experience running for other brands.

Selling on Etsy and print-on-demand platforms. Etsy is still one of the fastest ways to earn your first dollar online, especially with digital products. The guides here cover pricing, SEO, product research, and how to stop undercharging for work that took you hours.

Growing traffic without paying for ads. SEO, Pinterest, email lists — the long-game channels that compound over time. Paid traffic is a tool; organic traffic is an asset.

Every article is written from experience with the actual tools and platforms — not from watching YouTube videos about them. If a tool has a real drawback, it’s in the review. If a strategy takes longer than most people expect, that’s in the article too.
